I appreciate that the writers came up with an ending that feels like a real possibility and avoids Bollywood’s common “anything goes” conclusion. The film also does a good job of highlighting the potential of AI and commenting on how little we still understand about its impact. This ending might be hard to accept for some.
Kriti looks amazing and is perfect in her role as the android, while Shahid plays a man who loves her very much. The supporting cast is strong, and Dharmendra is fun to watch, though his role seems somewhat unnecessary. The music and songs are catchy, and the jokes are funny. The film has all the right elements to be a hit, but its theme, style, and well-executed but difficult-to-digest ending are its biggest challenges. A big drawback for me is that the trailer and songs gave away a lot of what the film is about. While there are additional funny parts and a new ending, the trailer feels like a condensed version of the film without the final sequence.
Despite its flaws, the film is entertaining and a step in the right direction towards making new kinds of films. I liked the film and appreciate this bold attempt at a new kind of romantic comedy. I also appreciate the challenging ending… but overall I did not like the film.
